2015 - 2017

This programme is a consolidated overview of four programmes in two years (2015 - 2017) with the American Embassy School. The programmes were designed to touch every facet of western classical music across three cities Vienna, Salzburg and Munich. Vienna holds a significant position in holding discourses on the value of arts and culture in education. Salzburg is a world heritage site and a paradise for architecture fanatics. Munich perfectly synchronises old-fashioned values and classical music tradition to an upgraded modern lifestyle.

Let's unfold the major highlights of these programmes featuring workshops, rehearsal visits, experiential tours and participatory activities in Vienna, Salzburg and Munich.

A day well-spent with globally renowned Vienna Boys' Choir, a 500-year-old choir group that performs over 300 concerts annually in front of over 500,000 people. There are approximately 100 choristers divided into the group of four for touring named after Austrian composers Bruckner, Haydn, Mozart and Schubert.

Based at the Vienna Konzerthaus, Vienna Chamber Orchestra is celebrated for its prize-winning matinees and concerts composed by a decorated list of conductors, soloists and musicians. A participatory tour of the VCO is the best way to explore and learn about western classical music in Vienna.

In 2003, Tonkünstler became the first Austrian orchestra to establish a department for music education and now offers exclusive music programmes in Austria. Join legendary percussion troupe STOMP for a participative workshop on distinguished music compositions.

Tour the Vienna State Opera, one of the leading opera houses in the world that puts together brilliant ensembles annually featuring over 350 performances.

Another great find for audiophiles in the city of music is the Haus der Musik (House of music), which is an interactive sound museum decodes music on a playful as well as scientific level.

This Western classical programme featuring exclusive choir workshops with professionals and musical geniuses would be incomplete without choir concerts at St. Peter's Church and St. Charles' Church.

If we are talking about western classical in Vienna then this programme would be incomplete with an exclusive performance at a baroque-inspired architecturally designed church. This time you can perform at one of the most quaint churches in Vienna, Mariahilfer Church.
